High Court Case Status India — How to Check Online for All 25 High Courts

India has 25 High Courts, and case status for all of them is available online through the eCourts High Court Services portal. This guide explains how to check High Court case status online, the different search methods available, and lists all 25 High Courts covered by the portal.

The eCourts HC Portal

The national portal for checking High Court case status is hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/ecourtindiaHC/. This portal is part of the eCourts Mission Mode Project and provides a unified interface to search case status across all 25 High Courts in India.

Note: This is different from the district court eCourts portal (services.ecourts.gov.in). The HC portal has "hcservices" in the URL.

How to Check High Court Case Status Online

The HC eCourts portal offers several search methods:

1. Search by Case Number

  1. Go to hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/ecourtindiaHC/
  2. Select the relevant High Court from the dropdown
  3. Click "Case Number" search
  4. Select case type, enter case number and year
  5. Solve the CAPTCHA and click "Search"

2. Search by CNR Number

Every High Court case filed under the eCourts system has a unique 16-digit CNR number. Enter the CNR number to get instant case details.

3. Search by Party Name

Search using the name of the petitioner or respondent. Select the High Court and enter the party name to find matching cases.

4. Search by FIR Number

For criminal cases, you can search by FIR number along with the police station and year.

5. Search by Advocate Name

Search for cases by the name of the advocate appearing in the matter.
